Due to the Coronavirus global health emergency, it is of the utmost importance to take a step forward to guarantee the safety and well-being of all crew on board vessels.
In order to thwart the spread of COVID-19, we are offering sanitation services for all ship’s areas (accommodations, deck, offices, kitchen facilities, washrooms, etc.)
Depending on the situation at hand, we propose two alternative procedures:
A preventative disinfection, where no active cases have been confirmed, aimed at preventing a potential spread of the disease by thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces and areas of the vessel.
A corrective disinfection, for situations in which active cases are suspected and/or confirmed, where the focus will be on treating the spaces where the affected crew member spent his time, in addition to an integral disinfection of all the ship.
For either procedure, we spray fifth generation quaternary ammonium compounds, 70% alcohol-based solutions and sodium hypochlorite based solutions, depending on the surface, with thermal foggers, pressure sprayers, and manual backpack sprayers.
After spraying, all areas and surfaces treated are wiped with a cloth to root out all vestiges of the virus. Finally, ventilation must be carried out. Once the procedure has been completed, we issue a disinfection certificate as supporting documentation.
Lastly, and despite the fact that a thorough disinfection has taken place, we still advise to keep sanitary conditions on board the vessel at the highest levels, due to the non-residual nature of the products employed, and to wear personal protection equipment to mitigate the risk of contagion.
