About Us
Ecotec Fumigation delivers expert pest control, fumigation & agrochemical solutions across South America, with a focus on quality, safety & environmental care.
A water storage system without proper maintenance poses a direct risk of contamination from sediments, heavy metals, biofilm, and pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, or Legionella.
We design a technical protocol tailored to the operational requirements of each industry:
1. Preliminary Diagnosis and Technical Inspection
Assessment of the tank’s structural condition (concrete, plastic, fiber cement, stainless steel).
Verification of watertightness, lid seals, and the condition of valves and floats.
Operational planning to avoid interruptions in the water supply during peak production or work hours.
2. Deep Cleaning and Sediment Removal Protocol
Controlled drainage of residual volume.
High-pressure water jetting to remove mud, scale, and biofilm adhering to the walls and bottom.
Mechanical sludge extraction using industrial submersible pumps and high-powered liquid vacuum cleaners.
3. Broad-Spectrum Chemical Disinfection and Rinsing
Application of food-grade disinfectants authorized by SENASA and the National Ministry of Health.
Bacterial neutralization on walls, ceilings, conduits, and downspouts.
Rinsing and technical draining prior to final filling to ensure optimal residual chlorine levels.
4. Laboratory Analyses (Bacteriological and Physicochemical)
Collection of representative samples after the service has been provided.
Accredited laboratory tests to verify the potability of the water in accordance with the parameters of the Argentine Food Code (CAA – Article 982).
Issuance of the Technical Report and the Official Cleanliness Certificate, valid for regulatory agencies and occupational risk insurers (ART).
How often are businesses and condominiums in Argentina required to clean their water tanks?
In the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (in accordance with Ordinance No. 45,593 and Law No. 6,040) and in the Province of Buenos Aires, the cleaning and disinfection of drinking water tanks in rental buildings, industrial facilities, and commercial establishments are required every 6 months (semiannually). In addition, semi-annual bacteriological analyses and annual physicochemical analyses are required to verify water potability before municipal or provincial inspectors.
What does the Argentine Food Code (CAA) require for drinking water in industrial facilities?
Article 982 of the Argentine Food Code establishes the limit values for microbiological parameters (absence of E. coli, coliform bacteria, and Pseudomonas) and physicochemical parameters (pH, turbidity, residual chlorine, total hardness, and presence of metals). A professional cleaning service from Ecotec Fumigation ensures that water storage does not alter these legally required parameters.
Is it necessary to halt production or operations at the company while the tank is being cleaned?
Not necessarily. At Ecotec Fumigation, we plan the work by coordinating temporary reserves, using alternative tanks, or conducting operations outside normal working hours (night shifts or weekends) to ensure there is no operational impact.
What certificate is issued upon completion of the cleaning and disinfection?
We issue an Official Tank Cleaning and Disinfection Certificate, signed by a Responsible Technical Professional registered in the field of Health and Safety or as a Chemist. This document includes the date of the service, the service’s validity period, the chemical protocol used, and the results of the corresponding laboratory analysis.
